The Fire Department provides fire prevention, suppression and other emergency services to the Town of Richmond Hill. The Fire Department responds to a variety of calls including fires, medical assistance, rescue, auto extrication, public assistance, spills and release of materials hazardous to the environment.
Fire prevention staff conduct inspections on institutional, industrial and commercial buildings during construction and after occupancy to ensure fire safety standards are met. The department also provides public tours, demonstrations and training lectures that emphasize fire safety.
Staff are responsible for maintaining fire stations, vehicles and equipment by conducting repairs and providing preventative maintenance programs.
Fire training staff instruct all new recruits, conduct entrance and promotion examinations and contribute to the continuing development of all fire department staff.
To obtain a copy of an incident report or a fire investigation report, requests should be made in writing to the Fire Chief, and include the following information:
The type of report you are requesting, date of incident, location, names of the owners of the property or persons involved and cheque payable to the Town of Richmond Hill (Incident Report $105, Fire Investigation Report $157.50)
