The Town of Richmond Hill Fire Department is not accepting applications at this time for the position of Firefighter. All job postings for the position of Firefighter will appear on this Website
The minimum application requirements for a Firefighter are
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to understand and communicate clearly in oral and written English
- Must have completed a minimum of grade 12 or equivalent as approved by an Ontario Board of Education or the Ministry of Education
- Applicants claiming life or work experience equivalency may be required to successfully pass a Canadian Adult Achievement Test
- Must have NO criminal records unless a pardon has been granted under the Criminal Record Act of Canada and has not been revoked
- Must possess a valid Ontario Drivers License Class D with Z endorsement at the time of application
- Must possess a valid and current certification in both Basic Rescuer CPR and Standard First Aid or equivalent
- Must have uncorrected 20/30 vision and normal colour vision
Please note:
A desirable qualification may include that the applicant be a graduate of a "Pre Fire Service Program" as offered by a post secondary institution or have had attained "Certified Firefighter" credentials as attained as a graduate of the Ontario Fire College and the Ontario Firefighter Curriculum.
