On Monday, December 6, the 2010-2014 Mayor and Council Elect of the Town of Richmond Hill participated in the Inaugural Meeting of Council at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts. The meeting commenced with a piped processional led by pipers Paul McKenzie and Dan Finkle of the Richmond Hill Centennial Pipe Band. The ceremony included a Call to Order by Town Clerk, Donna McLarty, followed by the singing of the national anthem by Langstaff Secondary School students, an Invocation by Pastor Sam Chan of the Richmond Hill Christian Community Church, and the Declarations of Office (official swearing in) administered by the Honourable Justice Joseph F. Kenkel. Mayor Dave Barrow delivered the Inaugural Address and each member of Council had an opportunity to speak about their priorities for the next term and to thank their supporters, as well.
