On behalf of Town staff, Mayor Barrow and Richmond Hill United Way Chair, Commissioner Dean Miller presented a cheque for $85,305 to United Way of York Region (UWYR) CEO Daniele Zanotti. Demonstrating their ongoing commitment to the community, Town staff participated in a variety of fundraising activities this year, including a Dragon Boat Race, the Swap it or Sell it! event, a bake sale, a staff Amazing Race, a payroll deduction program and more, surpassing this year’s fundraising goal by $12,430! Richmond Hill has been a proud supporter of the United Way for many years and supports a number of other local community groups and charities throughout the year. The United Way of York Region’s Community Fund supports 40 York Region agencies in more than 100 critical programs. On behalf of the UWYR and the 1 in 3 they touch, Mr. Zanotti thanked Town staff for their ongoing generosity and support.
