On behalf of Richmond Hill Council, Deputy Mayor Brenda Hogg presented four young Richmond Hill residents with a Certificate of Appreciation for being selected to receive Youth Volunteer Service Awards by the Government of Ontario. The Ontario Volunteer Service Awards, held on April 12, 2010, honour the thousands of people, young and old, who generously contribute their time as volunteers across Ontario. Deputy Mayor Hogg presented Dan Grigorin, Yasmin Samiee, Netta Gelb and Taylor Ber with a certificate, and acknowledged Danielle Rosen, Danielle Havimaki and Charmaine Choo who were unable to attend the meeting for their hard work and dedication as members of the Town's Youth Action Committee (YAC). As members of YAC, these young Richmond Hill residents helped the Town organize a wide variety of events, including a talent show, youth carnival, Richmond Hill's own Amazing Race for young people and much more. The dedication and commitment that these individuals have shown to their community sets an example for others.
