Gwen Manderson, Director of Strategic Initiatives, presented Council with an OVATION award from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) for the Town's work on communicating and engaging the community in the development of the new Strategic Plan. The Award of Merit recognizes the Town's excellence in communications for telling the story of the Town's Strategic Plan project. It was presented to Town staff at the IABC OVATION Awards Gala held on May 6, 2010 in Toronto at the Liberty Grand. IABC is the world's largest association of business communicators. With more than 16,000 members in 70 countries, IABC is recognized as the professional association of choice for communicators who aspire to excel in their chosen fields and is committed towards establishing and supporting the highest professional standards of quality and innovation in organizational communication.
