Planning Division Home

The Planning & Regulatory Services Department’s Development Section is responsible for the processing of various types of development applications in accordance with the Town’s delegated authority under the Planning Act. The Development Section is responsible for the processing of Official Plan Amendment, Zoning By-law Amendment, Draft Plan of Subdivision, Draft Plan of Condominium, Site Plan/Site Plan Amendment and Part Lot Control Exemption applications.

The Development Section is also responsible for processing Sign By-law Amendment and Municipal Addressing applications, as well as making recommendations on Consent [PDF] and Minor Variance [PDF] applications. In addition to processing applications for development proposals, the Development Section is available to answer general enquiries related to existing and proposed development applications.

If you are considering the submission of a development application or require planning related information, it is recommended that you visit the Planning & Regulatory Services Department located at the Town’s main Municipal Offices, 225 East Beaver Creek Road, 4th Floor, or contact the Planning Division by calling (905)771-8910, or via e-mail at planning@richmondhill.ca.
